Day 13 of 30 days writing challenge
Love for Books
Well, this is a bit a tricky part. Basically I really like to read. But eversince I got addicted to gadget (esp. smartphone and tablet), my frequent reading habit drastically reduced.
Nonetheless, I still read occasionally. But to decide which is my favourite book will be hard, because I love so many kinds of books. Mostly I love fantasy fiction, but I also read non-fiction as well. But I guess I'd try to pick one of my ol' time fave: Harry Potter.
Why Harry Potter?
Well, first of all, it's like the first super thick fantasy book that I read like super fast and non-stop. The story is so intriguing you hooked into every page--again and again and you can't really stop. The book itself is indeed magical because so many people were extremely fond of the series.
Harry Potter series contained of 7 books, written by J.K. Rowling, a female UK writer, during her desperate days.
There are also spinoffs of the series like the series of Fantastic Beast which tells the story of another major character but not parallel to Harry's time: Newt Scamander, a famous wizard scientist (?) that researched on magical creatures and beasts.
Anyways, I'll stick to explaining about Harry Potter for today's topic.
The story
Harry Potter was an orphan, raised by her uncle, Vermont Dursley and aunt, Petunia Dursley along with his cousin Dudley. They lived in 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey, England. The Dursleys treated Harry badly, they put him inside the cupboard under the stairs instead of giving him his own room.
Harry's mother, Lily, was a witch, and she alongside with her husband James, which was a wizard, both tragically killed by the infamous Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard that had a reputation of killing mudbloods (a calling for a half wizard/witch half Muggle(normal human without magic)) and tried to rule the whole wizarding world. Magically, Harry survived somehow. Some said it's because of his mother's love, but later on it will be explained why. Hence, Harry was famous in wizarding world as 'the boy who survived' and he was practically like a mesiah in that world. The whole series depicting Harry's struggle to fight Voldemort, sometimes alone sometimes with a little help from his friends.
Anyway, I'm really tired. I wished I can tell today's blog more stories from Harry's saga, but I'm too tired I can't really open my eyes. Today was tiring, think I'll call it a day. Nighty night 😘.
